Seize the Daydocuments the story of Terah Williams, a 22-year-old woman battling for dignity and autonomy across state borders as she struggles to survive a mysterious neurological disorder that causes her twenty or more seizures per day.

At age 14, Terah’s life abruptly changed at the onset of this illness. She was pulled from school, hospitalized for two weeks, and catapulted into a desperate search for answers in a broken system. As an African American woman in the deep South, Terah struggles in a seemingly unending battle against medical racism and a system that criminalizes the poor and underinsured. But with the support of family and close friends, Terah navigates her way through a sea of doctors and alternative medicine practitioners and emerges with a miraculous and unexpected treatment: cannabis in the form of CBD supplements, a treatment which is neither legal nor accepted in her home state of Georgia.

The documentary follows Terah as she seeks answers and access to this life-changing medicine at a time when lawmakers across the United States are facing critical decisions about public access to CBD. Terah’s inner grace and strength captivates audiences on screen in this intimate portrait of a young woman seeking the support she deserves.
